WEST
COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL
Chantilly, Virginia
Working
with Gassman Corporation, the General Contractor, Shapiro
& Duncan installed the HVAC and plumbing systems for
West County High School, a new 373,000 SF 21st century model
educational facility that can accommodate 2,600 students.
Today the school has been renamed West Field High School.
The facility includes a two-story media center, state-of-the-art
classrooms, and a field house. The challenge taken on by Gassman
was to complete in two years a project that would ordinarily
require three years. Working as a team, the project was completed
within the required schedule and on budget.
Shapiro
& Duncan won an "Excellence in Construction Award for the
Best Mechanical Project 2000" from the Associated Builders
and Contractors.
