Immaculate Conception School

Shapiro & Duncan was contracted to redesign an extremely antiquated facility. Removing the old steam heating system, S&D
designed a completely new heating and air conditioning system
that provided individual classroom control of both heating
and air conditioning. This was a first for the school in
its 90-year-old history.
Volunteer money was donated for this project and S&D proposed HVAC design saved an additional 20% that allowed the school to meet its budget and proceed with construction. Six gas and electric high-end Lennox L series units with VVT (variable volume and temperature controls) were used for this 101-ton system. The mechanical work was redesigned and construction was completed within six months well ahead of schedule. Carbon dioxide detectors were utilized with system economizers to provide reduced operating costs through proper use of ventilation air. |
